MASS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR

ASCENSION SUNDAY – May 27th – 28th, 2017

Welcome to Saint Joseph Church.  We welcome any guests or visitors with us today, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

  • The Parish Office will be closed on Monday June 29th in observance of Memorial Day.
  • Vacation Bible School is still looking for those wonderful volunteers who enjoy working with our younger population and learning about our Lord. Please prayerfully consider helping with this wonderful ministry. Registration forms for the children are located on the table in the vestibule. VBS will run from Monday June 19th through Friday June 23rd.
  • There will be a Pro-Life Mass June 2nd at 12:00pm here at St Joseph’s. Adoration immediately following.
  • A reminder that Sunday June 4th is WELCOME SUNDAY. Donuts will be available after each mass on Sunday. Please plan on stopping by to enjoy with your fellow parishioners.
  • The food pantry is need of volunteers and donations. Please see the bulletin for the much needed items and times.
  • The Knights of Columbus have started selling tickets for the cash raffle that will benefit the 50th anniversary of St Joseph’s Church next April. The winner will be announced at the parish picnic in August.
  • Scripture study continues on Wednesday evenings starting at 6:00pm on the Social Hall. If you would like to deepen your faith and understanding please join us.
  • Just a reminder about the Couples Anniversary Mass for couples who have been married 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 or more years. The mass will be at St. Mary’s Cathedral on June 11th starting at 2:00pm. Please see the bulletin for complete details.
  • A Reminder that the Funeral Planning Seminar sponsored by Swan Las Funeral Home and hosted by Corpus Christi is scheduled for June 17th at 9:00am. Please see the bulletin for complete details.
  • The second collection today will be for the Catholic Communication Campaign, thank you for your generous gifts.

6th SUNDAY OF EASTER – May 20th – 21st, 2017

Welcome to Saint Joseph Church.  We welcome any guests or visitors with us today, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

  • Just a reminder that there are NEW books, CD’s and booklets, at a wonderful price, in the kiosk located in the vestibule near the main entrance.
  • A reminder that the Knights of Columbus will be having a fundraiser breakfast this weekend after the 8 & 10am masses. This is to benefit the Boyer Family who lost their husband and father a few months back. Please come out and help us support one of our own.
  • There will be a Pro-Life Mass June 2nd at 12:00pm here at St Joseph’s. Adoration immediately following.

5th SUNDAY OF EASTER – May 13th – 14th, 2017

Welcome to Saint Joseph Church.  We welcome any guests or visitors with us today, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

  • We would like to point out that there are NEW books and CD’s and booklets, at a wonderful price, in the kiosk located in the narthex near the main entrance.
  • Once again, a reminder that there will be a meeting on Tuesday May 16, for all that are interested in helping with Vacation Bible School. VBS will run from Monday June 19th through Friday June 23rd. Please plan on attending this very important meeting.

  • Scripture Study is continuing on Wednesday evenings starting at 6:00pm in the Social Hall. Please join us to continue deepening our understanding of our faith.
  • The Diocese of Colorado Springs is sponsoring the St. John Bosco Young Adult Ministry Conference taking place on Saturday May 20th at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Please see the bulletin for complete details.

Welcome to Saint Joseph Church.  We welcome any guests or visitors with us today, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

  • We would like to take this opportunity to wish Monsignor Ricardo a very Happy Birthday and congratulations on the anniversary of his ordination this Tuesday May 9th.
  • There will be a Rosary Rally on May 13th at 10:00am at St Dominic’s, to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima’s 1st  apparition.
  • Baptismal classes will be on May 14th after the 12:00 pm mass, starting at 1:15pm.
  • There will be a meeting on Tuesday May 16 for anyone interested in helping with Vacation Bible School. VBS will run from Monday June 19th through Friday June 23rd. Please see the bulletin for complete details.

  • Donations are now being taken to help plant flowers in the Miriam Prayer Park on the west side of the church. See Bulletin for complete details.
  • There will be no 8:00am mass Monday May 2nd – Thursday May 4th, Friday May 5th the first mass will take place at 5:00pm.
  • A reminder that next weekend, May 6th and 7th, St Joseph’s new communicants will be celebrating their 1st Holy Communion at the 5:00pm and 12:00pm masses.
  • National Speaker Roy Petitfils will be speaking at St Patrick’s on May 7th after the 5:00pm mass. Topics discussed will be Anxiety, Depression and Suicide. This evening is open to any and all that could benefit from the discussion.
  • There will be a Rosary Rally on May 13th at 10:00am at St Dominic’s, to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima’s 1st apparition.

  • This is a reminder to please bring in your Rice Bowls this week through May 30th.
  • Please remember that The Bannoura Family of Bethlehem will be in the vestibule selling their beautiful handcrafted olive wood religious items after each mass this weekend.
  • This Sunday the Knights of Columbus will be having their wonderful breakfast after the 8:00am and 10:00am masses. The benefit for the Boyer Family will take place on May 21st. Please plan on joining us.

 – The Parish Office will be closed on Easter Monday April 17th.

 – Faith formation speaker, James Dixon will be giving his talk on Social Justice and Homelessness in Colorado Springs, on Tuesday April 18 starting at 6:00pm in the Social Hall.

 – Scripture Study is back on Wednesday starting at 6:00pm in the Social Hall.

 

 – The second collection today will be for the Returning God’s Gift campaign.

 

April 8-9, 2017

MASS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR

Palm Sunday, April 8th– 9th, 2017

 Welcome to Saint Joseph Church.  We welcome any guests or visitors with us today, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

  • There will be a Chrism Mass Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Saint Mary’s Cathedral.
  • There will be no Adoration on Wednesday and no 8:00 a.m. Mass or morning Adoration on Thursday, or Friday of Holy Week.
  • Rehearsal for Holy Thursday liturgy will be on Wednesday at 6:00pm for Alter Servers and at 6:30pm for Alter Servers serving Good Friday.
  • Practice for RCIA Candidates and those participating in Washing of the Feet on Holy Thursday, will take place on Wednesday at 7:00pm.
  • Stations of the Cross on Good Friday are at 12:10 pm and 7:00 p.m. Please join us.
  • The Mass for Veneration of the Cross will take place at 3:00 pm on Good Friday.
  • The Parish Offices will be closed on Friday April 14th in observance of Good Friday.
  • There will be the Blessing of the Easter Food Baskets on Saturday from 9:00am – 12:00pm.
  • Holy Saturday rehearsal at 7:30pm, on Saturday April 15th in the church, with the Easter Vigil Mass at 8:30pm.
  • Easter Sunday Masses are at 8:00am, 10:00am and 12:00pm.
  • You can also find the complete Holy Week Mass schedule in the bulletin or on the schedule posted in the vestibule.
  • This weekend the 2nd collection will be taken up to help support Capitol Improvements.

            Welcome to Saint Joseph Church.  We welcome any guests or visitors with us today, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

  • Remember the Lenten Season is a wonderful opportunity to prepare for God’s forgiveness. Penance services are offered throughout the Diocese during Lent. Please see the Bulletin for times and locations.
  • St Joseph’s Prayer Warriors are always looking for participants to pray for friends or family members that may be in need of prayer. If you would like to join please see the bulletin for complete information.
  • Stations of the Cross will be celebrated again this coming Friday at 5:30 p.m. A soup supper will follow. Please plan on joining us for fellowship.
  • Baptismal classes are held every second Sunday of the month, the next class is scheduled for April 9th. Please contact Cathy Kusman if you are planning to attend.

4th Sunday of Lent, Mar 25th-26th, 2017

            Welcome to Saint Joseph Church.  We welcome any guests or visitors with us today, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

  • Penance services are still being offered throughout the Diocese during Lent. Please see the Bulletin for times and locations.
  • Praying for others is one of the Spiritual Works of Mercy. St Joseph’s Prayer Warriors are always looking for participants to pray for friends or family members that may be in need of prayer. If you would like to join please see the bulletin for complete information.
  • Stations of the Cross will be celebrated again this coming Friday at 5:30 p.m. The Knights of Columbus’ wonderful fish fry will follow. Please plan on joining us for fellowship.
  • In preparation for Easter, members of the Rosary Society and interested parishioners will gather in the Parish Hall on Thursday March 30th at 9:00 am to clean candle holders and other items. Please contact Linda in the Parish Office for more information.
  • Baptismal classes are held every second Sunday of the month, the next class is scheduled for April 9th. Please contact Cathy Kusman if you are planning to attend.
  • Do you provide the Holy Eucharist to our home bound brothers and sisters? There is a mandatory meeting for all Extra Ordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist on Monday March 27th at 5:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. Please plan on attending this important meeting.

  • Just a reminder there, there are a few more confirmation candidate prayer cards left. Your prayers for the candidate are greatly appreciated. Photos are located in the vestibule.
